Project Black PC (part 7)
Sorry about the dull name.

No need to drill a pilot hole, just use one of the dozens of vent holes. Then keep drilling until there's a hole big enough to drop the nibbler cutting head through. Remember to cut this on the waste side.

Just the right size.

I did a quick test just to see how easy it would cut this steel... It went through it like a hot knife through butter.

I clamped the guide in place and started.

At first I used my cordless drill because I thought it would be easier to keep on track without a cord trailing behind however...
First corner negotiated. It got a little tight and it was hard to keep it hard up against the guide. Also as I suspected the cordless didn't really have enough power. so I changed over to the good old "plug it in" drill.
This just flew through the steel sending little sharp bits everywhere. It really is a wonderful tool.
And out it pops. Most of the time taken was spent changing the position on the guide.
Here is the panel offered up to the fan shroud.

Next time I think I will make a jig to hold the work to the bench and try a guide on the outside of the hole being cut. I think this will make it easier to keep on track.
